Griffiths and Co. are in receipt of the following market report from their London principals, Messrs Mills and Sparrow, dated London, January 2, 1914: Butter.-Thore has been a big demand throughout the week, and prices on the whole are fairly steady, excepting Colonial, which has eased 2s per owl" from the top. The weather has been fine and bright, aud the general trade throughout the country been particularly good. It is still necessary for producers to do everything they possibly can to diminish the pro" portion of secondary goods. New Zealand—The s.s. Athonie is now in dock, and the butters are landing. Prices have gradually eased, as this vessel has neared its destination, but to-day's quotations should onable this boat to clear. A firm stand will be necessary to prevent values giving way. Colonial arrivals this week consisted of:—Australian: Per s.s.
