A ROADMAN DROWNED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wanganui, Last Night. The police received information that a roadman named Bert Jones was drowned in the Wanganui River, oil' Kaiwaiki Pah, at 5 p.m. No further details are available. A CHILD DROWNED. Napier, Last Night. The poliee received word, this evening, that Robert Mercer O. Hughes, the 17-months-old son of Mr and Mrs Henry Hughes, was found drowned in a creek at Puketitiri at 5.45 p.m. to-day. ft appeared that the little chap fell through a broken bridge into a shallow creek. The body was found an hour and a-half after the child was missed.
