AUCKLAND COMPETITIONS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Saturday. The five brigades' competitions commenced yesterday. Brigades were preI sent from all parts of the North Island 1 and from Dunedin. The results of the two-men coupling event were:—Dunedin South 1, I'etonc Railway 2, Grey Lynn .3, Dannevirke 4. Disabled hose event—Thames 1, Dannevirke 2, Dunedin South 3, Devonport 4. Ilawera, Napier and Tauniaruimi were among other brigades which tool: part. THE WINNING TEAMS. Auckland, Last Night. The fire brigades' demonstration was concluded yesterday." Two New Zealand records were broken. In the ladder race the record time of 7 2-ssec was reduced to "sec. Jn the two-men rescue event, the record of 22sec was reduced to 2i 4-iisee. Grey Lynn won the Auckland shield; and the winners of tlie principal prize-money were:— Daimevirkc £3O, Dunedin South £35, Thames £l3, IMone Railway £l2, Waihi £lO. Results were as follows:
Hose, reel, and ladder event for live men—Dannevirke (penalty one sec), total time lmin 7sec, £ls; Dunedin South, 1 min !) l-ssec, £M).
