TARANAKI PRESBYTERY.

(Contributed) The Taranaki Presbytery met on Thursday last in Hawera. 'There were three ministers and six elders present. Apologies for absence were, received •from Messrs Rosevearp, Pattison and ■lreland. In the absence of the Moderator, Rev. Mr. Robertson was voted to •the chair. Rev. Mr. Pattison was appointed Moderator of the Presbytery for li) 14. It was reported that Mr. Lilliowall lwd been appointed to the Toko station and Mr Raven to fnglewood. Tlie latter has had the misfortune to break his leg, and. is at present in the Auckland Hospital. It was agreed to empower Mr. Dunlop. of Waitara, to baptize; Mr. Bailey, of Akato, to baptize and administer the ■ Lord's Supper; and to add the names of both these gentlemen to the list of olii■eiating' ministers under the Marriage •Act. The, Presbytery's balance-sheet, sill)•lnitted. by the Treasurer, was adopted, It was agreed to appoint Messrs Pattison (convenor) and Robertson, with their representative elders, a commission to visit New Plymouth and report to the April meeting. The clerk was authorised to make enquiries for a suitable evangelist for a series of meetings through the Presby•tory and report to next meeting on April 2.
