The annual meeting of the Board of (ioveruors of the .New Zealand Institute passed a resolution approving of the formation of a scientific, library, as provided under the Science, and Art Hill of hint session, and expressed its preparedness to hand over its scientific library on conditions conserving the rights of members. At a meeting; subsequently of the Standing Committee, Mr. (i !m; Thomson and Professors ICasterlichl and von Zi-dlitz were ap- ] o'nt.ed ;i subcommittee to confer with the Board of Governors regarding the conditions of transfer. The next step towards the foundation of a Dominion Scientific Art and Historical Library contemplated by .the Act will be the appointment of five, Government nominees to tin? Board of Science and Art.
