BLUEJACKETS v. POLICE.
A LIVELY ARREST. By Telegraph- Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The arrest, of a drunken bluejacket led to a lively (juarter-of-nn-honr in Manners street to-night, reminiscent ol* the M-enes during strike season. The bluejacket fell into a doorway with a civilian, also very much "under influence," and as a constable went to 'irrest the seaman, the latter resisted. Another policeman came along, and more bluejackets anil a large number of people gathered and gave the two constables a hostile reception, roughly • handling them. The policemen struggled along, however, towards the ners Street ■Station, whence more police, -hearing the uproar, sallied forth and arrested three bluejackets and n civilian for obstructing' the police in . ;,.cn'ion of their duty.
