A NEW APPOINTMENT. STATEMENT BY ATTOHNHYCIENERAIj. By Telegraph—Presa Association. Wellington, Last Night. Thu Attorney-General (the Hon. A. L. Wcrdman) made the following statement in connection with tin* Jutiiciarv to p. reporter to-day:— "The resignation of Sir Joshua Williams will take c.A'ect from the 31st of this month. "Air Justice Sim will relinquish the office of President of thu Arbitration Court, and will, in futuve, perform iudi c-ial duties only. Afr Tlosldng, K.C., of Dunedin. ha* been offered, and has aewpted tho seat upon the Supreme Court Bench, which will have to be filled when the Judicature Amendment Act, passed la.st session, comes into forco on tlw Ist of February next. "Who will be the new President of the Arbitration Court has not yet. been settled. On this point I shall pn.bablv be able to mako a statement before the ond of the present week."
