Bowling Carnival.
THE TARANAIiI. TOURNAMENT. SECOND DAY'S PLAY. Beautiful weather prevailed for the second day of tho Taranaki Bowling Tournament, which was continni'tl at tho Now Plymouth and Fitzroy greens. Tho greens wore in first-class ordor, and played very fast, yet play on the whole was disappointing for a provincial tournament. There were, however, some incidents of bright play, and the dose finishes in many cases provided great excitement. 1" Section A the position is very interesting, and any one of five rinks with two losses each may provide the winner. A. K. Smart, with six wins „o losses, looks nil over a winner in Section 11. ns also does F. Mason, of Pirtama, in Section 1). Ho has played five games without a defeat. Th Section C, four or live rinks still have a good chance.
Yesterday there was a good attendance of visitors on both greens, and with the likelihood of some keen contests, there should be another large gathering to-day. The following are the results of yesterday's matches:—
