The mile produced a brilliant ncck-and-neck finish, Power and Thorpe making a. thrilling dash up the straight. Jt(: crowd showing tremendous enthusiasm. The American broke Shrubb's record of 1905 by several yards. The three-mile walk was a great battle. from start to finish between Pickard and Murray. Cash mail walked indifferently.
