PRIVILEGES FOR DENTAL STUDENTS. AMEND! NU TIIE C-'ALLND.-U!. Hy Telegraph—Press Association. Dunediu, Tuesday. At the University Senate to-day, th.proposal to add the following wor is ti note, on page 254 of the calendar vs.:. referred to the, Medical Committe - '"But if he then fails he shall be allowed to present himself again for examination in this subject in the following Apiil.' ;
The note referred to reads thus:— "The second professional examination Bachelor of Dental Survcry) is held in January, but the subject of patholocrv shall be taken in the preceding November."
The object of the motion is to give dental students the privilege extended to students in other classes.
It was decided that the principles accepted for the Doctorate of Science be applied to the Doctorates of Literature and Law.
A motion by Professor Hunter, "that, the Science Committee report whcth«r it is advisable to continue recognition of the Mining School at Auckland," was negatived by 15 votes to 5.
