FIRE BRIGADE DEMONSTRATION.

Very fine gold and .silver ■medals, forty-six in number, are to be awarded as prizes in the events, and nine brigades, with some hundred firemen, will take part. in some of the events there are over thirty contestants, and although a start is'fo he made at nine o'clock, the committee will have all their work eut out to get them all over by six o'clock, so that visitors can see something interesting the whole day. Afternoon tea, soft drinks, fruit, lollies, etc., will be for sale on the ground, and generally (he river port people have laid themselves out as usual to do things on a good scale. the prizes won during the day will be presented by his Worship the Mayor. Wo hope the public will patronise the "dem" and show their appreciation of :1 body of hard-working men.
