Albert Merehall, a carrier, was uivi - detanlly killed this morning. lla was driving down a hill close to Hawcra, and when endeavoring to pass a milk wagon hia cart struck a couple ol boulders, and overturned. Merehall was pinned underneath and sustained a fracture of the collar-bone and had six ribs broken. Ho was breathing when tne doctor arrived, but died a few minutes later. The body was removed to Port Chalmers, where an inquest was held, and a verdict returned "That deceased was accidentally drowned through the swamping of a boat while fishing." MOTOR-CYCLIST INJURED. Auckland, List Night. An elderly man. named Hawkins, was riding a motor cycle on the Creat Xorth Road, near the Morningside railway station, when his machine collided with two dogs. The rider was thrown heavily and received severe injuries. lie was removed to the hospital in an unconscious condition.
