Sir K. lloldcn, chairman of the London City and Midland llank meeting, said that contending nations' gold reserves were inadequate. He urged the various banks to follow the American and Canadian plan and publish gold holding*, adding that unless they agreed upon the amount they yield, his bank's balance-sheet next December would show its holding. He contended tliere was a necessity in an emergency for current? to be one third based on gold. He insisted that the gold reserve in England was insufficient to meet reasonable demands, and urged the appointment of a committee to consider the grave situation. ; » .
