The club would procure literature of interest to motor-cyclists, and would make this available to members. The leading characteristics of the constitution of the .Manawalu Motor Cyclists' Club were: - That it shall be essentially a members' club; that it shall be conducted independently of any personal interests; that the' club shall afford members information and advice connected with motoring; that the club shall watch the progress of motor cycling, and generally protect and encourage the same, and watch the interests of members, and protect the same whenever they may be menaced; to organise tours and excursions for members and their friends. The objects include: "To co-operate in securing national legislation and the formation of proper rules and regulations governing the use of 'motor-cycles in city and country; to protect the interests of owners and users of motor cycles against unjust and unreasonable legislation; and to maintain the lawful' rights and privileges of owners or users of all forms of self-propelled motor cycles whenever and wherever such rights and privileges are menaced. Th» encouragement in this country of the use of the motor cycle. To promote and encourage in all ways the construction ami maintenance of good roads and bridges, and the improvement of existing highways and generally maintain a social club devoted to motor cyclists. On the motion of Messrs. Templer and Findlay, it was decided to form a club, lo be known as the "Stratford .Motoring t'lub," members to include owners of motor cycles and cars for private use. The "objucts and characteristics" of the Afanawatu Club were amended t« embrace the car-owners, and were adopted with other slight modifications, as were the working rules of the club. The subscription was fixed at 7s lid, to be reduced to os if paid within or before the month of election, or within one month of due date. Club colors will be red and black. The annual meeting will be held in February in each year.

This explodes the wrong ' idea that the hou.se is only for daily visitors. The detached cottage has " also been thoroughly overhauled, lined, and painted. The ladies' sleeping-room s v put in lirst-class order, while the gentlc- \ men's room has also been renovated.
