LLOYD' GEORGE DECRIED. Received 16, 12.20 a.m. London, January 15. Lord 1 Curzon, speaking at Manchester, sftid it seemed as if the Land' campaign was not - going well, and that a new cry was wanted to raise the spirits of Mr. Llovd George's followers, hence be was going to have a navy-bursting campaign. The Chancellor's intervention at this juncture was imstatesmnnlike, mischievous, and inopportune, and incur, sions of Lloyd George into international politics was a danger to the nation. Lord Curzon criticised the suggested naval holiday us an extremist's plan, and one flint was one-sided. A raluction was em encouragement to our enemies, and the betrayal of friends. Tlieiv! was no evidence that humanity Jiad so altered that the country could afford to listen to such counsels;. An increase of power, rather than a demotion, was necessary. If the Government joined the "Little Navy Party," their naval policy could not any longer be treated as a question above partystrife.
