CURES WITH RADIUM. ARTIFICIAL PRICES OF THE REMEDY. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, January 8. Sir Thomas Barlow reports that twenty-four cases of cancer beyond surgical aid were admitted to the Middlesex Hospital from June to September. 1912, and all died. Sixty-eight were admitted during the same period in I!) 1 and treated by means of Vadium. Thirtysix patients died, and the remainder had been discharged ami were able to attend to their daily duties. Such a result was unprecedented. There were one or two eases of recurrence, but Sir Thomas Barlow is hopeful that with fuller knowledge of radium recurrences will he prevented.

Doctors Ronffart and Jambs submitted to the Society of Gynaecology the cases of two women, whom they claim have been definitely cuied of cancer in the womb by means of radium. The value of the radium applied in both cases was £IO,OOO.
