We Jiiivc been shown a must interesting invention which (.lie great linn of Messrs. .John Walker and Sons, Ltd., of Kilmarnock, is introducing (o tin; world. It consist?, of a patent and commercially non-ri'lillalile bottle, ensuring, the genuineness of (he original '•.lolimiii! Walker" whisky contents. Furthermore, the bottle secure.? perfect cleanliness and freedom from contact of any foreign substance whatever. The invention is a simple-looking device, which is almost invariably the case when a patent is of enormous value. In this instance, before Messrs. John Walker and Sons, Ltd., perfected the device, time and money were freely spent, and exhaustive experiments wen; made to detect the inevitable small defects which might "detract to some extent from the value of the protection offered to consumers. It is interesting to know that large shipments were sent for voyages over the Equator and back to Neo'tland in order to make the strictest tests possible, and now Messrs. John Walker and Sons, Ltd., claim that the. "Johnnie Walker" bottle is just what is wanted. Something like, ten thousand patents, iutended to secure the object now attained, have been filed in Great Britain, but this is the first to come into practice in this Dominion.
