ENTERTAINMENTS.
UMPIRE PICTURES., At the Kmpire Picture Palace hut night, a programme was screened which -hould attract the attention >of all moving-picture lovers. It covered a variety of subjects, dealing with each in a manner which made every picture a star feature.
The principal attraction was, of course, the powerful drama entitled "Czernowska." The chief personality is a beautiful adventure's—a character of fiction which always appeals to the multitude. A feminine Midas, she lets her cupidity govern the course of her life, and the disasters in which this involves her point a forcible moral. The, story is rich in dramatic incident, the setting is realistic, and the acting is exceptionally well carried out. The supporting nron-ramme is notabl" for a comedy liv the Kevstone Conipanv, entitled '•Suffragette Minstrels." This picture ranks' with "A Nspis.n from the Deep." which wan described as the best comic film ever screened in Now Plymouth. Tt is one long laugh'. Other films include an interesting instalment of the ''Eclair Journal," and two stirring T.nbin dramas. ROYAL PICTURES. The screening of "Robinson Crusoe" at the Theatre Royal last night excited much interest among tleatre-goers. The management, of this theatre has a welldeserved reputation fo:' screening • the latest novelties, so that the change of programme to-night, which will contain some of the very latest films, should attract the attention of all patron- of the moving picture.
