WESTLAND'S JUBILEE.
'THE CELEBRATIONS l!E(iIN. By Telegraph.---Press Association. Ilokitika. Yesterday. The celebrations of the Wcstlaiid Goldlields Jubilee commenced to-day in lino weather. There were enormous crowds, the trains from, all parts of Westland being crowded- A large number of pioneers and others from all parts of New Zealand liave gathered during the past few days. The first item on the programme was a luncheon and the presentation of a public welcome to the Governor. Addresses were presented to the Mayor of llokilika. the chairman of the Westland t'ounly Council, and a very cordial welcome ■given by tliu large' as-ieniblagc. The town was gaily decorated. A great crowd of pioneers is proceeding to Cass Square, where the pioneer welcome will he given and the foundation-stone ol the Pioneers' Memorial will lie laid by the Governor. The functions extend over the remainder of the week.
