This renowned sire may fittingly be referred to as one of the fountain heads cf Clydesdale blood in New Zealand. His stock have been phenomenally successful and show yard ecords prove, the far-reaching effect Lord Salisbury hail on the Clydesdale breed in Australasia. Lord Salisbury was never i beaten in the show ring, gaining first at Ayr, 1870; in 1877 first and eliainpion at Kilmarnock; first at Dairy, Ayr, Glasgow, Higliland Society's Show "at Edinburgh, Dunedin in 18S1, first and champion at Taieri in ISB3, ISB4, 18S5, Dunc--5 din in 1884, 18S5, ISBO and 1887. Kitching for the Moa Flat Stud at a cost of 1500 guineas, KF.RE-I-COME'S dam, Dolly, by Quality King, by Lion King, by British King, I imported by Mr. Hugh Rae from Scotland, by Argyle (2507, Vol. 0), dam Darling, by Prince of Wales (673, Vol. 1), [grand dam Maggie, by Lockend Cham- ' jpion (448, Vol. 1). Quality King, as a yearling, gained first prize at Dunedin Show; as a two-year-old, first both at Dunedin and Taieri Shows. As a three-year-old, he was only shown twice, gaining first prizes. Quality King's dam, Queen of Quality (80S, N.Z.5.8.), show yard career is - well known to breeders. She has taken fourteen first prizes and seven champions. Among others, she was champion mare at the Exhibtion Show, Dunedin. i Her sire, the far-famed Lord Salisbury, retired from the show ring an unbeaten horse. HERE-I-COME is half-brother to Knight of Waihi, who gained first at Masterton as a yearling in a strong class. As a four-year-old first and champion at nawke's Bay. Knight of Quality, also out of Dolly, gained first at Palmerston N., Wanganui, Hawera and New Plymouth, both colts being afterwards sold in Australia for somethnig over £4OO each. TO STAND THIS SEASON AT URUTI and travel the SurI rounding districts, PHOSPHORUS, By Rothschild, out of Viata, bv Lincoln Yet, out of St. Leonard mare, out of an Arab mare. Vista, Phosphorous' mother, was the winner of several mccs, and was also the dam of V.R., The Match and May Vista. Phosphorous won a mile in 2mm 24secs, pulling up, by 30 yards; 2 miles in saddle in Smin 7sec easily, also a rile in 2min 28secs, and two seconds, and he is capable of running a mile in 2min 16secs on a good track. V.R., his full-brother, has also won several 3 ices and his half-brothers ran first and second and third in the £IOOO trot.
