A RAILWAY SMASH.
EXPRESS TRAIN' WRECKED. NO FATALITIES. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 30, 12.20 a.m. Sydney, June 29. The first section of the' Sydney-Mel-bourne express narrowly escaped disaster at Rock station. It was deflected on to a loop-line, and crashed into and cut through a stationary goods train, smashing several trucks. The engine of "the express was disabled. The driver of the latter, realising , that something was wrong, jambed on the brakes and saved the situation. Nobody was injured. The driver states tiiat the signals on the main line were clear.
