Tin.' organisation of the National Reserve in Auckland military , district; lias boon entrusted by Ocnoral Modley lo Colonel Allan Bell, wlio ser,ycd in tlie Matabele and Roer wars, and. was lately in command of the waikato Mounted Regiment. Colonel liell will shortly set up a committee of military ollicors to formulate the plans governing the organisation. The object of the movement is to enrol men who have served in any of the military or, navy forces of the Crown, who, being over the age for training in the Territorials, are under no obligation for further service, but are willing to come forward for service in the event of a national emergency.
