WORK AND WAGES.

HOTEL WORKERS CONFERENCE. Per Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Hotel Workers' Conference concluded to-day. The question of extending the Federation's activities to distracts where no awards existed, such as Invorcargill, Taranaki, Nelson, and West Coast, was referred to the next executive to deal with, when the promised Six-Day Week Bill is disposed of by Parliament. It was decided to take steps to inaugurate an Australasian Federation of Hotel Workers. The conference affirmed the principle of abolition of private registry offices. It was decided to ask the Minister of Health to have a stricter examination of quarters of workers, and to seek the abolition of the living-ill system. The Auckland union was appointed Federation Executive for the current year.
