RIFLE SHOOTING.
TARIKT RIFLE CLUB. The Taiiki Defence Rifle Club held their annual picnic on the 3rd inst., when there was a good attendance of members and visitors, and a very pleasant day's sport was spent. The weather was fine, but unfavorable for high scoring, a strong "fish tail" wind prevailing, which played havoc with the scoring of some of the best marksmen at the long ranges. The aggregrates for the cup were consequently not up to the usual standard. Mr. T. Therkleson, the winner, deserves credit for his performance, it being the first time he had shot on the local range. The following are the scores of the prizewinners of the several matches:— 200 YDS. MATCH. T. Therkleson 33 .T. Therkleson 33 W. Bonner 33 R. Hancock 32 500 YDS. MATCH. X. Stephenson 32 W.
