Dr. Charles Pattison and his wife have arrived, en route for Fiji. The doctor has been appointed to conduct research work amongst the .lepers on the island of Makogai. He has devoted most of his life to the study of tropical diseases, and has had lengthy experience amongst lepers in Africa. He confidently anticipates that a cure for the disease will ultimately be found. His wife is a trained nurse, and will participate in her husbands work.
