ALLEGED IRREGULARITIES. NOT YET OUT OF THE WOOD. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, June 13. Mr. Hughes states that as the result of investigations into alleged infringements of the electoral law in connection with the elections, the Government will proceed against six newspaper and organisations, in four States. The elections are not yet out of the wood. Mr. Fuller asks for a recount for Illawarra. It is officially stated that there are still three thousand votes uncounted. The Hume seat is still in doubt. MR. FISHER SITTING TIGHT. Melbourne, June 13. At a meeting of the Cabinet the situation was discussed. At the conclusion, Mr. Fisher stated that they had done nothing, and added, "Why should we? There are still a large number of votes uncounted at Hume, and there is no saying how they will affect the position. We cannot do anything, as the result of the elections is yet unknown." Subsequently a meeting of the party was held, which Mr. Fisher described as a pleasant little gathering to welcome new members and express regret at the loss, of the told members. .'"■'ln the proceedings against the news*' papers and political organisations, Mr. Hughes charges them with leaving misled the electors. \ > ( • ALLEGED ILLEGAL ELECTION. Melbourne, June 13. There is a peculiar development about Mr. Fielding's election to the Legislative Council. The law provides that contestants for the Council must be ten years naturalised. According to records Mr. Fielding obtained his naturalisation in November, 1010. The Elections Committee is enquiring into the matter.
