Official statistics disclose the fact that last year the number of factories in New South Wales increased from 5039 to 5159. Wages paid increased from £11,000,000 to £12,000,000, an increase of £1,500,000. The increase in the num- | ber of employees was 6883. BETTER WEATHER. Sydney June 13. The weather has eased, but the sea is still rough. Shipping has had a bad time, and many vessels are sheltering. AUSTRALIAN EMIGRATION. London, June 12. Tito Times says that owing to the falling off in Australian emigration .the J States have approached the shipping companies to amend the three years' /contract because the additional accommodation is not wanted.
