TRANSPORT WORKERS FEDERATION, By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, June 13. The Wharf Laborers' Union adopted the constitution of the new Transport Workers' Federation, which is intended to embrace the Merchant Service Guild of Australasia, the Australasian Institute of Marine Engineers, the Federated Seamen's Union, the Australasian Federated Carters and Drivers, and the Federated Waterside Workers' Unions. The Seamen's Union has already adopted the proposal, and the engineers favour federation, but not in the present form. The carters and drivers have yet to deal with the question. THE BLACK COUNTRY STRIKE. London, June 12. Forty thousand are on strike in Birmingham and the Black Country. Illfeeling is increasing owing to reports that the employers are organising a federation to defeat the men. Three thousand strikers seized a waggon containing rations for the police, who are guarding non-strikers at the Talbot steel tube works, distributed the bread and cheese t6 the worrienfolk, and drank the beer. They afterwards stoned the works. LEEDS MUNICIPAL STRIKE . . SETTLED. Received 1,3, 5.5 p.m. London, June 13. The Leeds municipal strikers have accepted the corporation's terms.
