A Sydney cablegram reports the death of Archdeacon Wlifc*,v oi Armidalo,' ,aj prominent Anglican elergyman. Mr. h. Stevens arrived in Wellington by the Corinthie oa Tuesday. He joins the staff of the Taranaki Oil Wells, Limited, as chief chemist. Mr. George Wyndham, M.P., whose death was reported »n Tuesday, died at his hotel in Paris. H« had been in a fair state of health up to within a few minutes of his death. Mr. H. A. James editor *f the newspaper Town and Country Life, who is well-known as oae of the ablest writers , ob political questions in the Dominion. ; has been appointed general secretary of * the Reform League. i- There passed away at Waaganul on Monday Mr. W. R. Borlasc, barrister and solicitor. . Oa Thursday last Mr. Borlase ~waa stricken with illness, and the end came peacefully.' The late Mr. Borlase iwas very well known in Wanganui, where he pursued his practice. He leaves a widow and a young family (two sons and a daughter).
