Quite a splendid evening's sport was witnessed by those who attended the boxing display at the Pantechincon last night, by invitation of Mr. A. J. Laugham, the instructor. Several very interesting bouts were put on, which augurs well for the boxing tournament 1 next week. The first was a three-round bout between O'Brien and W. Oliver. The latter, who showed good science, had much the better of the contest. S. Craigie, a novice, made a good showing against Willett, who is a cool fighter. Laugham and J. Crowther gave an exhibition spar. The former had too much science, though the latter stood up pluckily. The best bout of the evening was that between Willett and Plumb. The former was the heavier, but the latter made the most of the fighting. Willett also gave an exhibition of scientific ball punching. A wrestling bout, in which Hine threw Crowther after 6 min 33 sec of strenuous work, concluded the evening's sport.
