t The special prizes offered' this year for general exhibits are numerous, arid in nio.-it cases substantial. Out of a total of over 130 specials, poultry secure 03 and fancy work 27. lleretofore exhibitions in the fancy work division have !K)L been awarded money prizes, framed diplomas and certificates having been presented to winners instead of cash. The new departure is considered to be a wise, step on the part .of the Show Committee, and will ?|o doubt result in record entries. Besides"ordinary, and special prizes, an oil-painting, valued at £3 3s, and music to the.-value of £1 Is, will be presented to the' exhibitor scoring the most; points in adult classes; while points prizes, valued at £2 2s and £'l is i|c>pcctively, will be awarded to the successful exhibitors in classes froni i to 10 i|t}d 11 to 18 inclusive. ■ In this division,; aiso. «irls are offered great induee:i]ei(i(s to exhibit certaiiUMlusses of work, and iio doubt there, will be keen competition; Entries close, at Hawera on the ULih inst. at.,1.0...p.tn.
