MISSING PETONE BANKRUPT. Per Press Association. Wellington, Jane 7. At a sitting of the Bankruptcy to-day Mr. Justice Sim granted an application to have John Ferguson and M. Ferguson, his wife, adjudicated bankrupts. After incurring Substantial liabilities in connection with drapery businesses at Lower Hutt and Petone, Ferguson left Wellington, and this led to one of the creditors applying for au order for bankruptcy.
LIGHT RAILWAYS. Feilding, Saturday. At a representative public meeting at Kimbolton yesterday, a chamber of commerce was formed to frame definite proposals to place before the Minister for Public Works for the construction of a light railway from Apiti to Feilding, 29 miles in length, via Kimbolton, Kiwitea, and Cheltenham. The Minister will be invited to inspect the proposed route.
