When Hagerty defeated Porter a little time ago, there was very little between the pair, and not a few good judges were inclined to the opinion that the latter would reverse the decision the next time they met. Consequently, when the Xorthern Association secured the pair for a match at Auckland on June 3, interest was evinced throughout the Dominion, and the knocking out of Hagerty for the first time during his career would come as a bit of a sensation. The pace set from the start was very fast, and up till the time Porter's right-eross | gave Hagerty his first sleep in the ring, the latter was slightly ahead in points, and odds were laid on his winning.
