AMERICA AND JAPAN.
THE DIPLOMATIC RUPTURE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright, Tokio, June 4. It is understood that a second Note has been despatched to Washington requesting the good offices of the Federal Government in order to prevent a rupture in the diplomatic relations between America and Japan.
JAPAN'S PROTEST. Received 5, 10.45 p.m. Washington, June 5. The Japanese Minister has presented Japan's • protest against the Anti-alien Law. It .contends that California's action tends to impair the equality of treatment the Japanese , are entitled to under the principles of international law.
