ATTEMPTED SUICIDE,

Dannevirke, Wednesday. A girl named Frances Sabin, 17 years of age, whose-parents reside at Makotuku, is now in the hospital in a critical condition, allegedly through taking (a dose of salts of lemon. The sufferer is reported to have run away from her home a week ago, and to have refused to return. Yesterday was her birthday.
A SUDDEN DEATH. Hastings, Last Night. Thomas Groom, aged about 45, eldest son of M. E. Groom; a well-known sheep farmer of Teonepu station, dropped dead 1 this, morning. Deceased who had been attended for heart trouble, leaves a widow, but no children. ; _ TOSSED BY A BULL. Hamilton, Last Night. William Campbell, an elderly Invercargill resident, was tossed by a bull while visiting the Ruakara State' Farm today, and rendered unconscious. Fortunately the animal was partly dehorned, fiwwise the result would have been serious.
