CYCLING.
ROVER ROAD RACE. Eight faced the starter for the road race to Waitara and back yesterday afternoon. The weather kept fine, but cyclists had a strong head wind to contend with on the return journey. The winner turned up in S. Beauchamp (2% min) with A May (2 min) second, and Gunson (1 min.), third. The winner won by 30 seconds, only a wheel separating second and third. The last name;! al9o put up the fastest time, (12 min. Mr. Arnold George acted as starter .-.nd judge.
For the Roebuck medal, the position, with one race to go, is verv interesting. Points scored are: V. Gunson 8, A May 8. S. Beauchamp 8. L. E. Smith 5, J. Jury 5. D. James 4, I!. Renner 3 L. Nippert 3, 11. Lob!, 2. T. .Jones 2' 0. Rowlands 2. A. White 2. E. Johnson 2, R Tapp 1, J). Roebuck 1
