THE INSURANCE BTLL. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, May 30. The Times says that Ministerialists are troubled by the continued unpopularity of the Insurance Bill. Friendly societies resent the red tape methods and the constant official supervision; others resent having to pay the whole arrears if they are out of work.
•MEETING GRIEVANCES. Received 1, 5.5 p.m. London, May 31. The News Agency semi-oflicially states that the Government's Bill to amend the Insurance Act deals mainly with the grievances of casual and underpaid labor. Opportunity will be given to consider other amendments. The trade unions have forwarded a number of suggestions. The carters' strike at Bradford has been settled.
