APOLOGY TO ROOSEVELT.
AN EDITOR'S RETRACTION. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 2, l.lfl a.m. New York, June 1. Editor George Newett retracted the libel on Mr. Roosevelt, published in the Iron Ore newspaper, and apologised in court. Mr. Roosevelt asked the jury to give nominal damages. The jury awarded six cents, complying with Mr. Roosevelt's request. Under the Michigan laws Mr. Roosevelt bears his own costs of the trial.
