KILLED BY A BURGLAR. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 20, 10.15 p.m. Sydney, May 2fl| Overton, who was attacked by a. burglar on May 7, has succumbed to his injuries.
[A Sydney cablegram on May 7 said: After a desperate struggle a burglar twice shot Mr. Overton, proprietor of the Tyno laundry, at Manly, and escaped. There has been a recurrence of the burglary boom lately, and frequent daring robberies in the city and suburbs. Overton was awakened by a burglar in his bedroom. He grappled with him, and a fierce fight ensued. The intruder fired a revolver, wounding Overton in the neck. In spite of his wound he continued the struggle, and the burglar again fired, inflicting a wound in the stomach. Retaining his hold, Overton Was dragged into the passage, when the burglar shook himself free, and escaped with £2O worth of jewellery.]
