PRISON ESCAPEE CAPTURED
TWO WEEKS' HOLIDAY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Monday. Early on Monday morning John Fairley, alias Wilson, one of the prisoners who escaped from Palmorston North gaol a fortnight ago, was recaptured in a lodging house in Courtonay Place. After escaping Fairley stayed four days in Pahnerston, and finally left on foot and walked across the country, sleeping in kystacks. On Saturday he took the train at Tokomaru and went to Wellington. He was well dressed when captured.
