YESTERDAY'S BALLOT. ' At the Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, yesterday, il sections, compris ng 10,50!) acres, were balloted for. Of this lan.l, f)l4i» acres, subdivided into sevt-n sections ranging from 1)00 to 1500 acres, is situate in the Taurakawa district, and for these no applications were received. They are now open for selection. For the remaining four sections tncre v;c!rc thirty applieants, and the ruccessfjl applicants who were personally examined as to their fitness were as follows: Section 27, block 0, Toroto.—J. T. Wnrivn. Sertion J. block 11, Mapara —James Kirk. Section 11, block 13, Mimi.—A. MaEVjownej, Section I. block 10, Mahoe.—ff. A. McTJ. T. Oarratt. Several other ballots will take place shortly.'. At Taumarnnui on May 27, Jfi,Bfw acres in the Mnparn, Aria and Tangitu Purvey districts will be offered. On June 4. 5729 acres in the Tnumatamahoe Block, at New Plymouth, and on June 18, a further area of flflOO acres in the Whakaihuwaka Block, will be available for ballot. An estate of 72!) acres at Tariki has been acquired by the Government. This has been divided into farms of about 80 acres each, and should be available on June 24th.
