ROCK OF DAMOCLES.

The inhabitants are abandoning the town of Tormery, Savoy, owing to the approaching blasting of the so-called Rock of Damocles, which is poised 2700 feet above and measuring 2000 cubic yards. Thirty workmen for the past four months have been drilling dynamite holes in tlj« rock.
The authorities have voted £40,000 to provide for homes destroyed.
