The Oceanic Steam Navigation Company's profits for the year were £185,515, after writing off £18!),158 for :tne loss of the Titanic. No dividend was declared, apart from the interim dividend paid in March, 1912. The sum of £IOO,OOO was transferred to t'ie insurance fund, and £60,515 was ca.'ried .forward. In addition to the lois of the Titanic and the Olympic coll.sion, tindock strikes were costly to the Australian and New Zealand services.
