CARDS.
EAST END CLUB. The adjourned annual meeting of the East End Card Club was held at the Rod House Hotel last week. The annual report congratulated members on a successful season, both from a olaying and a financial point of view. In all, 889 games of cribbage and euchre J were played, of which 418 were won and [471 lost, and the position thus attained for the Champion Aggregate Shield was 17 points, namely, 3 matches won, 6 lost, [and 1 drawn. For the Cribbage Shield 226 games were won and 270 lost, and the points gained for the Cribbage Shield were 4. The competition for the Euchre Shield resulted in 192 games being won and 201 lost, or a total of 8 points for the Shield. The report and balance-sheet were adopted, and the following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Patron, Mr. W. T, Jennings (re-elected); presi : dent, Mr. 0. W. Sole (re-elected); viceI presidents, Messrs. J. McNeil, J. Avery, J. Smith, A. Cliff, P. Lealand and E. Whittle; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. G. Rampton (re-elected); club delegate, Mr. E. Whittle; club captain, Mr. 0. Cook; vice-captain, Mr. R. Kibby; selection committee, Messrs. Colson, R. Kibby, C. Sadler, the club captain and secretary. The annual subscription was fixed at 2s 6d. The club will enter a team for the New Plymouth Card Association's competitions. Several new members were elected. Votes of thanks to the chair and the press concluded the meeting. The meeting of the Fitzroy Card Club, which was to have been held on Friday night, was adjourned, owing to the small attendance.
