He had, he said, found a letter suggesting a plot against the House of Lords, by getting a suffragette typist a position there. THE OFFICIAL PAPER. London, May 3. Despite the recent prohibition, the National Labor Press at Manchester has printed The Suffragette newspaper. A FOOLISH PROTEST. London, May 9. The Women's Social and Political Union is experiencing difficulty in hiring public rooms. The leaders suggest that all members should leave places of worship before the sermon on May 11 as a protest against the way the churches have treated the suffrage movement. A suffragette burnt Oakley, a large empty house at Barrow. PILLAR-BOX OUTRAGES. Received 11, 5.5 p.m. London, May 9. Every pillar-box in Romford and Uford was drenched with acids. A PROPOSED PILGRIMAGE. MORE BOMB OUTRAGES. Received 11, 5.5 p.m. London, May 10. The National Union for Women's Suffrage is arranging pilgrimages, and seventeen processions from all parts of the •country to London, carrying out propaganda work en route. They will attend a service at St. Paul's on July 27. Suffragettes cut the seats and fittings in a taxi-cab in which they were riding. Damage was done to the extent of £lO. A clockwork bomb and suffragette literature Were found in the sorting department of the Reading Post Office, addressed to an official in the Town Hall. A bomb was found in the waiting room of the Lime Street Station, Liverpool, inscribed: "Votes for Women." A taper was attached, but had flickered out before reaching the powder. "THE SUFFRAGETTE." •Received 11, 5.5 p.m. London, May 10. Mr. Whiteley, secretary of the Labor Press Company, has been arrested for printing "The Suffragette." DETERMINED ARSON. Received 12, 12.45 a.m. London, May 11. Farrington Hall, at Dundee, the residence of Mr. Henry McGrady, former Lord Provost, has been lNrned down. The fire started in six places simultaneously, and is believed to Itave been the 'work of the suffragettes. The damage is estimated at £IO,OOO.
