WELLINGTON FIRE LOSSES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Thursday. The fire brigade report shows that the loss during the year totalled £83,803. The Whitcombe and Tombs fire accounted for £42,282 of this amount. THE KARORI LIGHT. Wellington, Thursday. The light on the Karori Rock will shortly be erected. The machinery ia expected from Sweden in about three months' time. The work will be directed by Mr. Fraser, the, lighthouse expert, THE TUCKWELL CASE. Wellington, Thursday. The Tuckwell ease, which aroused much interest some time ago, was again before the Supreme Court to-day, when the question of costs for Gillespie, and whether George Tuckwell, the missing •son and principal beneficiary under his father's will, had left issue were considered. Mr. Justice Cooper allowed Gillespie £5 10s for filing and preparinn; an affidavit, and ordered that advertisements be Inserted for claims against the estate to be made within a certain period. At the expiration of the time the Public Trustee will be at liberty to act in disposing of the estate to the relatives.
