ARCHBISHOP REDWOOD.
HOME RULE SIDELIGHTS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Wednesday. * Archbishop Redwood, who has< been away from New Zealand for seven months, returned by the Ulimaroa today. In an interview with a Post reporter, His Grace, referring to Home itule, said that what was being Btated 1 about the attitude of Ulster was a pack of nonsense. The Archbishop was entertained at Bellamys by the leaders, of the Irish party, who were loud in their praise of New Zealand, which, m proportion to its population, had contributed more than anv other country to the Home Rule funds. The tide of emigration from Ireland had* fallen somewhat, but was still high. However, it was anticipated that when: Home Rule became an established Act,, as there was every reason to believe it would be shortly, Irishmen, in the •pinion of Archbishop Redwood, would stay in Ireland.
