TOUR OP THE MAIN TRUNK. By Telegraph—Press Association. Taihape, Tuesday. The Premier yesterday visited Ohakune and Raetihi, meeting with a cordial reception. He was entertained at luncheon at Raetihi, and at a banquet at Ohakune. He referred to the huge areas of Crown and Native lands of good quality which were idle. The time had arrived for all land to be utilised. The policy of the Government was to bring into use every acre of land capable of being improved. In the North Island 100,000 acres, out of 250.000 acres would be ready for settlement before the end of June. He foreshadowed Native land legislation in the coming session, with the object of overcoming the Native difficulty. He spoke in optimistic terms of. the future. He hoped to raise the limitations on the advances to settlers and local bodies, especially the latter in country districts.
