MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.
| A CHRISTCHURCH CHALLENGE. Per Press Association. Christchureh, Last Night. An election petition signed by J. McCombs and live other electors of the Linwood ward was lodged to-day with the stipendiary magistrate "exercising jurisdiction at the Magistrate's Court at Christchureh, being the courthouse at or nearest to the principal polling place." ' Petitioners, after setting forth the names of the candidates and the result of the election, pray that it may be determined that I). G. Sullivan was duly elected, and ought to have been so declared.
PATEA. The voting for the Mayoralty was as follows:—Larcombe, 251, Dr. Simmons 150. The elected councillors were:— H. 0. Clarke, B. T. Bennett, F. W. Grainger, A. T. Christenscn, F. Eumsbottom, J. P. Egan, C. R. Iloneyfield, L. May and A. W. Gunn. For the Harbor Board F. W. Crainger and H. G. Dickie were elected.
