| MR. ALLEN'S TOUR. | CANADA AND NEW ZEALAND. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 2, 8.55 p.m. Ottawa, May 2. Mr. Allen was the guest of the Parliamentary Association at a luncheon, the Speaker presiding. The Chief Justice and others were present. Mr. S'proule welcomed Mr. Allen. Mr. Borden referred to the great progress New Zealand had made in common with other portions of the Empire. A great task lay before the Island Dominion. Sir Wilfrid Laurier referred to All-Red steamships, hoping that the Borden Government would carry out a scheme of direct lines between Vancouver, Australia and New Zealand. It was absolutely necessary. Mr. Allen concurred with Sir W. Laurier on the necessity for more steamships.
